When anyone visits my home, they notice how well groomed my kitten is, and how well treated, and they also notice the collection of pictures I have of my kitten, I place my kitten pictures all over my home.

Well, this article isn’t about me or my kitten, it’s about taking better kitten pictures, and here are 5 tips for doing just that:

Always try to avoid sudden movements

If you wish to take better kitten pictures, then you should learn not to make any sudden movements and always use better quality high speed film, and use a digital camera with no shutter sound.

Lower your camera angle to the height of your kitten

Any kitten picture you wish to take, should be at an angle that is equal to the height of your kitten. This is for much better pictures and also some very cute facial expression that your kitten shows once they start staring down the lens.

Always make sure your kitten is well fed

This tip is the most important of all, it is very difficult to take kitten pictures of a hungry kitten, they won’t stand still long enough for you to be able to get one shot. That is why it is so important to make sure that the kitten has just been fed, before you try to take any picture of your kitten. Wait at least 15 minutes after the you just fed your kitten. It is also very wise to study your kitten movements, that way you will be sure when you kitten naps, and what time is best to start taking your kitten picture.

Always have a couple of their favorite treats on hand

A tip I leant online, was to always have a couple of your kitten favorite treats with you, that way you will give them a treat anytime they start to get rowdy.

Try to keep thing simple

The best kitten pictures I have taken was when they least expected it. I try to keep things simple and never ever try to take too many pictures at a time. The kitten will become frustrated and walks away, and it is very difficult after that to get your kitten to stand still for any more pictures.

Now you that you have discovered a couple of my simple trick for taking better kitten pictures, you can visit my website and post those kitten pictures online, so the world can see the love we have for our cats.

When you ask an owner of a cat how she gets rid of fleas from her beloved feline, you will surely receive lots of advice. You will undoubtedly receive a list of flea products that she has tried on her cat as well. However, if you would ask how you can get rid of fleas from your kitten, well, you just might not receive that many pieces of advice.

Kittens, being young, do not really have that strong an immune system yet. Thus, you cannot really use just any product that you would with an adult cat on your young kitten. After all, feline flea products would understandably contain chemicals, and exposure to such chemicals can even result to fatalities for your kitten. Thus, you have to be very wary about this particular scenario.

Of course, you can just choose to leave the fleas on your kitten and just wait for it to grow a bit older so that by then, you can already use flea products on it. This would be the wise thing to do, right? Wrong. In fact, no veterinarian would recommend any cat owner to do this at all. After all, fleas feed on the blood of their host. If this condition is left untreated, it would not take long for your kitten to develop the potentially fatal condition of anemia. Thus, you should not consider just shelving the problem off until your kitten is old enough to handle the chemicals that come with flea products. You still have to do something about the situation.

Since this is the case, then the wise thing to do is to consult your veterinarian. This way, your vet can determine the appropriate flea product that you should use on your kitten. Your vet would have to consider a lot of aspects for this, such as the age of your kitten, its physical size, and the severity of the flea condition. This way, your vet can choose the flea product that would best suit your kitten.

Kitten owners do not really have that many choices of methods to turn to in getting rid of fleas. However, you can also resort to using the flea comb, which is a fine-tooth comb that can brush off fleas from your kitten’s fur. Of course, this can be a bit of a hassle on your part. Just make sure you have a basin of soapy water in which you can drop the fleas so that they would indeed be killed in the process.

When it comes to a kitten, you need to be extra careful, as cats can be quite finicky regarding what they eat. Not that they are any kind of food connoisseurs but they just like to relish what they eat. But then the problem lies in what they eat, which can considerably affect pet health in the long run.

Getting home a new kitten might seem to be the nicest thing to do because you will have these cute pair of eyes looking curiously at you not knowing who you are but then the truth is that kittens need a lot of care, attention and health care. From their food to pet supplies and from vaccinations to vet visits and grooming, you will need to take care of everything.

Kitten Food: The most important part of pet health care is kitten food or pet supplies. Your kitten will need twice as much nutrients as an adult cat might need so that is one aspect that you will need to take care of. But at the same time they can’t eat the amount of food that an adult cat can because of the small size of their tummy. So you will need to get food that has enough nutrients and is also fulfilling. When your kitten is 6 weeks old, you will need to provide him at least 4 nutritious feedings within a day and should go on for 12 weeks at the most. Once this period is over, you can feed him twice a day.

Here are some dos and don’ts for your kitten health care:

· Never feed dog food to your kitten. Dog food is for dogs and your kitten doesn’t have the same metabolism of his organs doesn’t function like that of a dog. This is important as it might affect pet health later on. Another important thing is that growing cats need Taurine without which they might go blind or develop severe heart conditions in the later stages of growth.
· Never feed table scraps, as it is not nutritious or wholesome food. It will not be able to supplement a milk diet and cause diarrhea as well as indigestion problems. Get pet supplies that are high in taurine and other nutritions as well as milk. Cats love milk!

Never feed liver to your kitten or any other form of canned fish that is mostly intended for dogs or even humans. This type of food normally has different levels of vitamins and hence can lead to an imbalance with respect to a requirement of vitamins A, D, and E.
Always remember that kittens, unlike humans, do not like to change their food. It is always important to remember when buying pet supplies that you can continue a regular supply of the same food. Cats have better digestive systems if they continue to have the same foods regularly, this will ensure the pet health and stop and unwanted stomach problems.

What can I do with my overly energetic kitten?

Is there a particular routine to follow where grooming my kitten is concerned? When you consider how important good grooming and hygiene habits are for human beings, then you should realize that the grooming of your new kitten is equally as important. The following are key areas where you should establish a grooming routine for your kitten.

The bottom line is that regular kitten grooming makes housekeeping easier on you. Believe it or not, those regular brushings that you afford your kitten will help you when it comes to keeping your house cleaner. Additionally, it also helps to prevent your kitten from getting hairballs (the subject of a future article). When it comes to purchasing a brush for your kitten, remember that the length of their coat will determine the type of brush that you purchase. Here’s the rules of thumb for the type of brush you’ll need to buy:

Long-haired coats – wide-toothed combs (help remove the knots in their fur) and wire “slicker” brushes are recommended.

Short-haired coats – “flea combs” (narrow-toothed) and softer brushes work best for shorter length coats since cats with shorter hair normally don’t develop knots in their fur like the longer haired varieties.

Regardless of the type of coat that your kitten’s has, make sure that you provide your kitten with regular flea and tick baths or preventives. Additionally, a heartworm preventive may be necessary if you reside in a particular geographic region where the existence of the heartworm parasite is a prevalent factor.

What can I do about my overly energetic kitten? First and foremost, you need to realize that your kitten can go from being “knocked-out” asleep to romping around the house like a 4-legged tornado. This is normal behavior. And there are varying levels of that “tornado”, but this shouldn’t be perceived as abnormal behavior. You should also be aware of the fact that there are multiple stages of this during the day. However, for a kitten to be feisty and playful through the night while napping throughout the day is also normal behavior.

Here’s a tip – spend time playing with the kitten and more than just once in a while. You should take on playing with your kitten a couple times daily as being part of your responsibility to them. Granted, playing with your kitten will create a bond between you and them, but it also means that you may be able to get some sleep at night.

Watch for Part III in this series regarding if your kitten is growing properly and the warning signs for when you should take it to the veterinarian.

There are several different reasons that may make it necessary for us to have to take care of a newborn kitten. First, the mother cat may be sick or even has died. She could have even had more kittens then she could take care of. If the kitten is sick, sometimes the mother cat will not take care of it. And the worst is that the owner of the mother dumped the kittens out, while this is sad, it does happen quite often .

One of the most important things is to make sure the kitten is dry and warm. A kitten will die very quickly in a short amount of time if his temperature is dropped and he goes into metabolic shock. Fixing a dry, warm bed is important. Using old towels and a cardboard box will work. Just holding the kitten to your body will help to warm him also. Be careful if you need to us a heating pad or heat lamp. Be sure the kitten can crawl away from the heat if he gets too warm, which is also dangerous. After he seems warmed, give him a quick look over. Check the eyes, ears and general overall condition. Are the eyes alert or matted up and closed? Is the ears waxed or full of fleas? Is the kitten vocal and moving around or quite and still?

Making the decision of whether to keep the kitten or to call the animal shelter is up to you, but please do not just walk away. The kitten will die without help. If he seems to check out okay and you decide to keep him, you may want to give him some children’s pedialyte will be good to rehydrate the kitten. A mother’s milk substitute or what is called a milk re-placer can be purchased at a local pet store along with supplies like the eye dropper, bottle or a syringe that will help to feed the kitten. Follow the manufactures instructions and the results will be fine.

One thing to know is a newborn kitten will not be able to voluntarily eliminate his feces or urine until around the age of three weeks. You will have to stimulate the perineal area as the mother cat would stimulate the urogenital reflex by licking after every feeding.. A good way is to use a warm cloth or cotton ball and gently rub. Also the kitten will need to be bathed with the warm cloth to help keep him clean. After about three weeks you will be able to start weaning off the bottle. A good way is to start by mixing the milk re-placers with can food to the texture of a milkshake to help the kitten learn to eat out of a dish and gradually increase to solid foods.

Keep in mind for the first three weeks a newborn kitten is almost like have a new born baby in the house. They also will need to be feed around the clock. But at the end of this time you will have a new addition to your family that will have his own very unique personality.

In doing so, you will be preventing the kind of avoidable frustrations that often beset new cat parents and that can result in a cat or kitten being returned to the shelter or breeder.

One of the first things you should consider when adopting a kitten is what supplies your will need. Before bring your pet home, you should be equipped with a litter box and litter, food and a few toys. It is also helpful to have a few kitten training books available for quick reference. These can be found at any pet store or local library.

Be patient and allow your kitten some time to become familiar with its new home. Cats and kittens are quite sensitive and aren’t always receptive to new sights, sounds and smell. Don’t be alarmed if your kitten hides under furniture for a few days. This is normal behavior and the best way to handle it is to relax and allow your new pet a few days to feel comfortable its new surroundings.

Be sure to research potential problems such as scratching before they become a problem. According to most common kitten books, each cat requires two or more scratching posts. They don’t have to be fancy, cheap cardboard ones will do, or your cats might prefer a kitty condo. In the end, it is more important that you have the scratching posts than the kind you have.

Another vital area is the litter box. You do not have to teach a kitten to utilize the litter box since they know to use it instinctively; although, they can be picky about the conditions of the litter box. Locate the litter box in an area away from any loud noises.

Also keep kids and other animals away from the litter box. You can by the same variety of liter that is utilized by the animal shelter or breeder. To keep down on odor, clean out the litter box frequently.

Don’t be in too big of hurry to introduce your new pet to other pets in your household. Keep you kitty in a bedroom or bathroom for a couple of days and let the other pets sniff him under the door.

You may hear some hissing and scratching for awhile, but don’t worry. It’s normal pet behavior. One way to introduce and old cat to a new cat is by feeding them together. That way each will associate the pleasure of eating with the other which will help them to bond.

Unless your kitten or puppy’s mother was healthy before, during and after pregnancy, it is very likely the litter will suffer from personality disorders, that they will be susceptible to a wide range of immune diseases, genetic predispositions, and that their life expectancies will be shortened.
Once people bond with their pets, most will spend whatever it takes in an effort to get them better, or prolong their lives. The good news is that by taking an active role, most problems can be prevented!
This article addresses:
1.What to do if you fall in love with a pet store or rescue kitten or puppy

2.The role of nursing and weaning to their immune system

3.Best food for kittens and puppies
Where you buy your puppy or kitten matters
Pet Stores
Buyer beware! Pet Store kittens and puppies have a high risk, throughout their lives, of developing illness. Why?
Since the mid-1980s, families and empty nesters have been buying puppies and kittens at a pace that has turned breeding facilities (often called puppy mills) into big business.
Even though you may spend a lot of money for your new pet, price is no guarantee of health! Commercially bred mothers are bred too frequently. Their bodies don’t get a chance to fully recover before they are bred again, and again. Complicating matters, puppy mills tend to cut corners when it comes to food costs. Nutritious food is always important for good health, but especially important to a breeding mother. Commercial pet foods, despite label claims, are sorely lacking in nutritional value.
Stress: Stress is documented to compromise strong immune systems: Imagine the effect on weakened ones. The living conditions in puppy mill are highly stressful to mothers. This stress can be passed on to puppies and kittens affecting their disposition, personality and behavior.
Premature weaning stresses the developing immune system. Moreover, the time they spend away from their mother while in the puppy mill, subjected to the same stressful living conditions, is highly stressful.
But that is not the end of their stress. Shipping to pet stores puts them through a great deal of stress. If they get acclimated there at all, they experience travel and transition stress all over again coming to your home. No wonder they suffer with diarrhea, and eating disorders.
Rescue Facilities
Most of the animals sold in rescue facilities were abandoned; the kittens and puppies are largely from feral mothers. Feral mothers diets consist of weak and diseased rodents, putrefied carcasses, or discarded leftovers from trashcans. These leftovers likely harbor pathogenic bacteria, causing the mothers to be sick and diseased.
Feral females are impregnated by feral males who are likely to be equally as sick. Another problem confronting the feral female is that they are often impregnated before they are physically ready, and often become pregnant again, while puppies or kittens are still on the teat!
The health consequences to the offspring of feral mothers and premature weaning may be immediate, or they may not develop until the animal is older.
Today, pet owners are paying a very high price. Although this article seems to paint a dismal picture, by introducing an all-natural formula as soon as you bring your kitten or puppy home, you can minimize their health risk, and, you can actually take part in reversing the poor health predisposition to their offspring!
Stress: The stress of living a feral life takes a toll on the puppies and kittens immune systems. If their mother was constantly on the run to avoid harm or capture, the litter is likely to be skittish, reclusive, and defensive. Each generational decline adds to the genetic predisposition to poor health, bad behavior, and personality disorders.
The Importance of Mothers Milk
Milk from a healthy mother provides the building blocks necessary for puppies and kittens to develop strong immune defense systems. Unfortunately, most female cats and dogs that are bred have not gotten neither the diet nor the supplements necessary to fortify and nourish their bodies, before, during, and after pregnancy.
Kittens and puppies nursed on low quality mothers milk, or weaned prematurely, are more likely to have undeveloped immune systems. This need not be a problem if proper care is given during their transition from teat, to solid foods.
The Best Food for Puppy or Kittens
The best food for kittens or puppies is a diet that is most natural to their ancestry.
You can domesticate an animals behavior, but the domestication of their diet to commercial pet foods has been the primary cause for their decline in health, behavioral issues, personality disorders, and predisposition to disease. It is a fact that over 80% of all chronic disease is caused by an unhealthy digestive system.
Kittens and puppies given an all-natural nursing and wean support formula, as a supplement while nursing, and prior to being weaned to solid foods, are not only likelier to be healthier and live longer, they are smarter, happier and better adjusted.

Do you have cute and cuddly kittens and you are ready to sell? Many cat owners suddenly find themselves responsible for a range of kittens after their beloved cat is pregnant. However, in some cases, a cat that you do not even May come to your home and have a range of kittens. Whatever the situation, you want to find a good home for kittens, as soon as possible. Unfortunately, there are so many kittens in need of housing, find a home for your kitten may seem almost impossible. Therefore, if you want to increase your chances of getting your kittens sold or simply if you want your kitten to give away, it’s a good idea to use pictures to help you sell the kittens.

Why use pictures of kitten’s sale?

Using pictures to help you sell the kittens is a good idea for a number of different reasons. Perhaps the most important reason to use pictures to help sell the kittens as it is easier for potential buyers to see what kittens look like. After taking a look at the adorable face of your kitten will be able to resist the purchase or remove them from your hands if you give them away for free? There is no doubt that the towing at the heart of your potential buyers is the best way to encourage them to make a purchase.

Another reason to use photos of kittens for sale is simply because it will help set your ad apart from the rest. In fact, many people who are in the market to buy kittens will not even bother with ads that are not images. This is because it is human nature to take the simplest way possible, and reduce the choices by looking at the pictures is the easiest way to find the perfect kitten.

How can I take pictures of kittens?

If you have a scope of kittens you’re trying to sell, you can take a group photo of all the kittens. If possible, however, it is best to take pictures of each kitten individually trying to sell them. In this way, potential buyers can see the unique characteristics of each cat you are trying to sell. If you cannot take pictures while trying to sell the kittens, take a group photo which shows them in the most adorable pose possible. After all, the kittens are cute, the more your buyer will fall in love with them.

When taking photos of your kittens, it is generally preferable to use a digital camera. So you can take more photos until you get one that shows your kitten in the best conditions. Many publications and digital photos of them, if you plan to sell kittens with ads, digital photography is the best route to take. If the publication requires a hard copy of the photo, it is quite easy to take your digital photos to store and make it grow.

Kittens eat differently, sleep differently, and need time to adjust to changes both inside their bodies and in the outside world. Learn about a kitten’s basic needs and how to help your kitten grow into a happy, healthy adult cat.
Make Your Home Kitten-Proof
What, exactly, does kitten-proofing entail? Particularly if you already have older cats, what more do you need to do?
For one thing, kittens are much more active and curious than older cats. Like human babies, they often satisfy their curiosity by chewing everything in site. For this reason, you should purchase all-natural cat litter and not the clumping clay variety that is commonly used with older cats.
Another element of kitten-proofing your home is giving the kitten a safe place to be. This need not be an entire room, but it does need to be quiet and closed off from other animals. After a few days, give the kitten and the other animals some closely supervised time to get acquainted. If your new kitten has not been to the vet, keep it quarantined from other animals until you can be certain he does not have any infectious diseases. Give the animals a few weeks to get used to each other and do not push too hard; before you know it, the safe room will be a thing of the past!
The First Visit to the Vet
The first visit to the vet should take place shortly after you have gotten your kitten, particularly if it was a stray and you do not know its medical history. This is particularly important if you have other household pets that could be infected if the kitten has any communicable diseases. Until you take the new kitten to the vet, you will need to keep him away from the other pets.
At the veterinarian’s office, your kitten will undergo a detailed physical exam. This will include looking at baby teeth to determine age, measuring temperature, palpating organs, listening to the heart, brushing fur for signs of fleas, and checking eyes and ears. After the physical examination is complete, the vet will perform several tests, such as:
Fecal float checks for worms
Blood Tests check for FeLV and FIV viruses
Depending on your kitten’s age when you first take her to the vet, she may be vaccinated. Vaccinations take place at 9 to 10 weeks of age. Kittens are given a booster shot at 12 and 14 weeks and possibly a Rabies vaccine, depending on local laws or if your cat is considered at risk.
Two procedures that may be taken care of at different times are spaying/neutering and declawing. Some vets prefer to spay/neuter at a younger age, as it may be better for the cat. You need to make a separate appointment for this. Unlike spaying and neutering, declawing is a more debatable procedure. You should aim to understand more about the benefits and disadvantages of this procedure before you make a final decision.
Social Growth
In his first month and a half of growth, a new kitten experiences tremendous changes. Typically, new cat owners will not bring home a kitten until week 6, when it has been weaned off its mother’s milk. For this reason, typically new kitten owners will be more involved in the social growth than physical growth.
If the mother was comfortable with humans, the kittens will usually learn that behavior and learn to socialize easily with people. However, if your kitten has not become accustomed to being handled by humans by the age of six weeks, it will be difficult to train this behavior later, and the cat may always be somewhat more skittish than others.
Be sure to teach your kitten at a young age that hands are not toys, they feed, pet and hold the kittens.
Introducing Canned Food
Kittens need many more nutrients than adult cats. However; with smaller stomachs they must each more regularly. A six-week-old kitten should have four daily feedings until he reaches 12 weeks of age. From 12 weeks to six months, she can take three daily feedings. After that point, feed your kitten once daily, like other adult cats.
When choosing food, keep your kitten’s health top priority. Do not feed your kitten:
table scraps or milk
dog food
adult cat food
All of these may be easy options for you, the pet owner, but the kitten will not receive the nutrients she needs. Instead, feed her a well-balanced diet of food made specifically for developing kittens. Begin with canned food, which is more calorie-laden for energetic kittens. Later on, you can start supplementing with dry food.
Now that you have learned the basics of kitten care, bring home your new kitten and enjoy the time you spend together. She will be an adult cat before you know it!

Keep in mind that the kitten is is a lot like a newborn human baby. It eats around the clock and is of course totally dependent on the care giver for everything. You are very lucky if the mother cat is there to take care of the little kitten. If not you will need to provide a dry, warm place. You do not have to worry about being all fancy, just some clean rags or towels in a cardboard box will work fine. There is milk replacement if you need it. Available at most pet stores or veterinarians, you may need supplies like a eye dropper, syringe or even a small bottle may be found. Just follow the manufactures instructions and the kitten will begin to blossom.

Week one will see the growth of the kitten in a incredible rate. The birth weight will almost double. It is believed that the first few weeks of development does determine the personality traits of the kitten. While still growing in week two, the kitten will also start to begin opening the eyes. Most of the eyes of the kittens will stay blue for several weeks. But the vision will be blurred due to the fact that the pupils will not dilate and contract at first. It is a good idea to try and keep the kitten out of bright lights during this time. Their sense of smell is developing and it is common for the little kittens to hiss at smells that a new to them. The sex of the kitten is still hard to determine at this point. By week three the ear canals are open. This is the time that the kittens will start being social with humans and other kittens that are in their litter.

If the mother cat is not there, you will be responsible for the other parts of the care of the kitten. It is very important to bath the kitten after each feeding. Use a warm cloth and stimulate the urogenital reflex of the kitten. For the first three weeks the kitten can not voluntary eliminate the urine or the feces. The warm cloth will help to stimulate and also feel more like the mother cat. After the three weeks you can also start weaning a bottle fed kitten. It is suggested to take some can food and mix with the milk replacement to the consistency of a milkshake to begin the weaning process and start the kitten to eat from dishes.
